Origami in Space

You all know of Origami the ancient Japanese art of paper folding. Legend has it that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane, such as long life or recovery from illness or injury.

But what if you could fold something more interesting than a stupid crane? Well Won Park, a bloke in Hawaii has started folding a few more interesting shapes which include ships such as the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars and the Enterprise from Star Trek.

See a whole load of his work here.

I finally saw Clone Wars. Has anyone made an origami . . . whatever those walkers are called that climbed the cliffs to the temple? Those were boss.

But can he fold space/time? The answer is no.

I'm amazed that he did it out of dollar bills.

Hey C, one of the ships in the new World of Warcraft expansion is under the command of, I kid you not, Captain Constance. Her vessel is "The Kraken," and traverses the rough seas between Stormwind City and the new continent of Northrend. Ha-cha!

He's not kidding! There's even a picture.

Oh... my... gawd!

I was a little apprehensive about clicking on that picture, somewhat concerned that my namesake might have the gravity defying attributes that always make me shake my head and once again reflect on the idea that physics works differently for females in the comic book/gaming world.

Yeah. I called it!

Now, just for the record: What rank is higher? Captain or Lieutenant Colonel?

Captain Constance will be pleased to find her rank is superior to the Lt.Col's. The only way he can redeem himself is to become a full Colonel again.

There is also nothing wrong with temporary suspensions of the law of gravity in certain areas :)

Oh really? Captain is higher than Lt. Col, eh? Huh. I wonder who might have possibly told me otherwise?

Lt. Col. Creedon, you have much to answer for! Now get back to your duties, and swab this deck! You call this ship-shape?

Sithy, somehow I knew that you would be the one to plump for "temporary suspensions of the law of gravity in certain areas."

Well a Captain in the Army/AF/MC is actually lower than Major and therefore lower than Lt.Col. but a Captain in the Navy is the equivalent of a full Colonel. The Navy really have to be difficult.

The real question here is not if Constance is claiming to be a WOW character, but if the Colonel recognises an Alliance naval comission?

Grunt as the Minister for Civilian Oversight of this here blog, I formally recognise Captain Constance's comission.

Am I not a good enough character on my own? Do I really need to claim to be a WoW character? I do not. But, if it sticks it to the Lieutenant Colonel, bring it on!

Is ANYONE here actually with me?

Well OF COURSE we're all here with you! How could we tease you if we weren't right here next to you?
