RIP General Newton (U.S. Army Ret.), a patron of the arts but was not a
traditional art lover. He admitted while he didn't know the difference
between a Picasso and a car crash, he just couldn't "stand the idea of a
bunch of frenchies owning America's greatest painting".
General Newton was played by Burt Reynolds in Bean (1997) who died today at 82. May he rest in peace.
