New STAR TREK Trailer online

Those of you with little patience may have already seen some grainy YouTube footage of the new Star Trek trailer badly vidcapped from it's premiere in font of some US prints of Quantum Of Solace.

Today however, just after 18:00 GMT Monday, on the startrekmovie.com website, the full HD enabled trailer was released through the Apple trailer service. If you have 1080p HD resolution I would recommend the 150Mb download of the highest resolution trailer and see images like this and this!

As for the trailer itself? Well I guess it's fair to say that I've not felt this excited about a Star Trek movie since the debut of the trailer for Star Trek First Contact in 1995. The freshness that JJ Abrams seems to have brought to this jaded franchise is quite evident from this phenomena three minute trailer full of quick cuts, action sequences involving the crew, beauty shots of the new Enterprise and frenetic space combat. And we get our first look at Bruce Greenwood as Chris Pike [above]!

It's all so new - yet hauntingly familiar.

I saw the Youtube one earlier and you're right- this needs to be seen in HD or at least Large size standard to take it all in.

This could be The Dark Knight of next year (sorry not G.I.Joe) :)

This is, as we say in the South, "the [expletive deleted] that killed Elvis."

That means it's "the dog's bollocks."

Not to be confused with "a dog's breakfast," which I guess means the opposite.

New 2igtv this weekend?

Just like Cloverfield was going to be the film to beat this year ? I am going to give this film a chance I really am but Honestly , I'm just not impressed ..it's not that it's bad but it doesn't feel like Trek, more like any generic Hollywood blockbuster...actually it does feel like Trek ...Star Trek 5 , I don't know why but the more I see it , the more it feels like the Shatner misfire of 89....Ah I still remember the Shat Coming on the Late Late show to push the film and managing to embarass not only Uncle Gaybo but a young couple in the front of the audience with the question "Are you two ...lovers?" Gaybo had to pull him away from them in the end!
