God: "Thank you all"

The 32nd People's Choice awards were held Tuesday night and Revenge of the Sith has won both Favorite Movie: Drama, and Favorite Movie. George Lucas was on hand for the ceremony to accept the awards.

Harrison Ford was the presenter for Favorite Movie, for which the nominees were Episode III, Hitch, and Batman Begins. When he announced Sith as the winner, he said, "The Force is strong in this one." George Lucas was in attendance to accept the award, and it was obvious that he was moved to receive it. Here was his speech:

"Thank you. Thank you all. This is a very, very important award for me. Star Wars, oddly enough, doesn't really get that many awards. I'm not a big favorite with the critics, but who listens to them? I'm not a big industry favorite either, but of course they are a bunch of studio executives. The most important people for any filmmaker, the reason that I make films, is for you! The audience rules! Thank you. Thank you very much!"

On the basis that its our money he needs to get his investment back, it is the audience that is most important. Awards aside (which are a bit of a joke to be honest - Shakespeare in Love over LA Confidential??), his films seem to do rather well. He must be onto something :)

@ Sith Apologist: Of course he's onto somthing- He's God!

@ Anonymous: They wanted him there for comedy value. They like to be entertained. We all know Rice & Rummy are really in charge there now.

They're all puppetts of the Rand Corporation who, in conjuntion with the reverse vampires, are forcing us all to write nonsense on the internet......oh God noooooo

I agree with Lone Gunman. To much wierd stuff written around here!

@ Lone Gunman: Well the only person who forced* me to write this was Mark and he's got a pale complexion, dark hair and stays up late so he's not a reverse vampire. He could be a member of the Rand corp. though now you mention it.

*By "forced" I mean in August he said "You should have a blog".

@ Sith Apologist: Yes, most written in comments you leave!!!

Well, someone has to provide hilarity. Oh wait, you do that too?!
Although, in relation to Revenge of the Sith: is it more, or are Obi-Wan and Yoda still hilariously arrogant despite knowing ALL the other jedi are dead?
None of this "we'll both go kill Anakin, the 2 of us should be able to overpower him, then we can take on Palpatine together." No, nothing like that; instead they go for a pair of one-on-one match-ups which didn't really work out too well for them. I mean, its not like Palpatine would be hard to track down, he can hardly go and hide?!
SO why not take Anakin out, then go back for him AS A TEAM?!
I'm not saying it looked bad on screen, and was nice and dramatic, but not planned out by the 2 lads as though they wanted to win.
Wibble.
Still, as my name may hint, it was probably best for the sith that the last 2 Jedi went for the bizarre tactical approach.

Bottom line. Yes, that's the lesson to us all: Don't be so arrogant as to ignore everything around you and plan ahead. George is a genius and his wisdom will resonate for a millenia.

Amen to that. Yoda was unfortunatly clouded by the darkside "shroud" not seen since the time of Darth Bane.

Either George Lucas is a genius or a very, very lucky fantasist who's in league with the Scientologists and used their influence to hype his movies....eh, oh.

Major General Creedon said...

As there's a choice I'd say genius, and my word is law.

Any word on Indiana Jones IV?

I've just addressed that. Never let it be said I don't listen to the fans!
