Quake 4 goes gold!

In the Summer of 1998, I (as Colonel Creedon, Space Marine) defeated the Makron and completed Quake II. There was much rejoicing.

But now, more than seven years on, Earth's war against the Strogg is about to continue. There is a new Makron, and Earth is pulling no punches this time: Now there's going to be a full planetary assault on Stroggos as QUAKE 4 is officially gold!!

Activision announced today that the latest in the classic FPS franchise is entering manufacturing and will invade PCs on October 21st.

Developed by Raven Software, QUAKE 4 uses id Software's DOOM 3 engine to pick up where Quake II left off. As Matthew Kane, an elite member of Rhino Squad, players invade the Strogg stronghold, fighting alone, alongside other Marines, and in mechanized walkers and hover tanks. Along with the single-player campaign, QUAKE 4 includes multiplayer action inspired by the speed and feel of Quake III Arena.

It's time to clean the layer of dust off my favourite Quake II weapon, the Hyperblaster and return to Stroggos and finish the job! WHO'S WITH ME??!!!!!

I guess Marine Commandant James will have to come out of retirement for this one - the Strogg menace must be ended once and for all.
Just when I thought I'd finally gotten Quake out of my system ... and this time I'll have to upgrade my graphics card too :(

Damn Stroggys!, making us upgrade our hardware, just so we can kick their pixelating butts, its high time we "wipe them out..., all of them!"

Maybe if we could get a Ghost agent to plant a transponder on thier planet, we could attract a Zerg swarm down onto them hehehehe

Yes I'm sure Commandant James will come out of retirement for one last hurrah!

They 'say' if your rig can handle Doom3 then it'll handle QIV pretty much the same as they're practically the same engine. Now "F.E.A.R." is a different story, but more on that next week.

Go to http://www.vertecx21.com/ to see how my gaming rig "Bellerophron" will perform with D3 and soon hopefully QIV!

Anyone get the feeling that we gamers are the sole force that drives the development of computer technology?
I mean, if it weren't for us, these stupid humans would still be using seven shades of their own shit to scrawl animal porn and jack off inside dark caves!!

Ps. I got promoted to a higher rank of irresponsibity so there'll be a few changes around here I can tells ya

Congratulations on your promotion Corporal Matrix, there's no one around here more deserving of a new stripe then you.

Just as real war drives the human race to invent and progress, virtual war within games drives technology ahead in a similar fashion, you are quite correct Corporal.
